Vacature: Junior Researcher Market Trend Analysis

Fairfood International is a non-profit campaign and lobby organisation, which encourages the food and beverage industry to increase the level of sustainability of its products. In this way, Fairfood contributes to the fight against hunger and poverty across the globe. Fairfood is in contact with more than 1500 companies in over 60 countries worldwide to encourage them to increase the level of sustainability of their products.

 

The Research Department of Fairfood is currently recruiting for the position of

Junior Researcher Market Trend Analysis

 

Position

As a Junior Researcher Market Trend Analysis (called Project Assistant Brand Owner Analysis internally) you will provide in-depth knowledge on a specific trend or development in the food and beverage industry. Relevant topics are the trend towards sustainability, the trend towards healthier food, the growing market share of private labels, the level of consumer demand for sustainable products, or the development of radio-frequency identification (RFID). You will collect and combine relevant data from the internet, academic literature, online news articles and interviews with experts on your topic. You will analyse the causes, scope and impact of the trend you are studying on the food and beverage industry and its various actors, and extrapolate the motivations and strategies underlying the decisions made in the industry. Finally, you will analyse the implications of your findings for Fairfood’s mission and strategies, thereby contributing to increased effectiveness of Fairfood’s lobby and campaigns.

 

Competences

You are studying at or have graduated from a higher education institution (HBO) or university or have acquired an equivalent level of development in working and thinking through professional experience. A degree in International Business, Economics or Management is advantageous but not necessary. You have good analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. You are able to work both independently and within a team. Knowledge of the food and beverage industry is a big asset. As a successful applicant you are also accurate, objective, analytical and result-oriented. Obviously, you have an affinity with Fairfood’s objectives.

To create a beneficial relationship for both parties we prefer you to work for a minimum of sixteen hours a week over at least a three-month period.
